Thousands of students attend productions at the Sudbury Theatre Centre each year, where they experience the best of professional theatre at Northern Ontario’s premier performance facility.
We offer a variety of programming suitable for elementary and secondary school audiences that will excite and engage students and educators alike. Each production tells a story that will resonate with children and/or youth – some also feature student actors, or adults playing youthful characters that your students will easily identify with.
All productions present opportunities for classroom discussion and lesson tie-ins, offering themes and content to match curriculum material and character education topics.
Disney’s High School Musical
We’re all in this together in Disney Channel’s smash hit musical featuring the students of East High. It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations and look forward to the new year. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical that is being led by Ms. Darbus. Although many students resent the threat posed to the “status quo,” Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well. Disney’s High School Musical is fun for the whole family.
High School Musical is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
