2024 Season Auditions

YES Theatre is holding general auditions for the 2024 Season on Saturday February 10, 2:00 – 8:00 pm and Sunday February 11, 10:00 – 6:00 pm. We encourage submissions from performers from all walks of life: actors, singers, clowns, dancers and more! We also encourage submissions from those interested in creative team, tech, stage management, musician and mentee roles. 

The 2024 Season includes Chicago, Peter Pan (the musical), The Music of the Beatles, and Oliver!. Please note that Every Brilliant Thing, 1939 and A Night on Broadway have already been cast. Head to YESTHEATRE.COM to see full descriptions and run dates of all shows! 

HOW TO SUBMIT:

  • If you’re over 18 and auditioned for our 2023 season, please do not re-audition, simply submit a letter of interest and you’ll be added to a consideration list and brought in for an audition for a specific piece if needed.
  • To submit please email us at info.yestheatre.com with your full name, specify which show(s) interests you (if any), an actor’s resume/ bio if available and indicate preferred audition date. Please make the subject line: YES 2024 AUDITIONS [FIRST NAME] [ LAST NAME]
  • If you’d like to submit for or hear more about roles in creative team, tech, stage management, musician and mentee roles, please email  INFO@YESTHEATRE.COM with a resume/ information request. Please make the subject line: 2024 NON PERFORMING SUBMISSION [FIRST NAME] [ LAST NAME]

 

WHAT TO PREPARE

  • Please prepare 1 monologue and one song of your choice. Please keep the song under 1 minute in length. (Suggested: 1 Verse & 1 Chorus) Songs will be performed acapella (no accompaniment). 

 

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Once the deadline is up (after February 1st), you should expect a member of our team to reach out and offer you a time and date for your audition. 

Time slots will be 10 minutes each with time to hear your pieces, offer some feedback and chat with you! The panel will include Alessandro Costantini (Artistic Director), Ruthie Nkut (Associate Artistic Director), Janie Pinard (Resident Choreographer), and Artistic Associates Jake Deeth and Gaia Dhatt.

Recommender Grant

Submit Your Work

YES Theatre is still accepting submissions for our 2024 Recommender Grants. The goal of these grants is to assist theatre creators to develop new work. This is a third-party recommender program. Using Nova, Ontario Art Council’s online grant application system, theatre creators apply to theatre companies designated as recommenders for the program (a maximum of five applications per year). These recommenders assess applications and submit grant recommendations to the Ontario Art Council.

 

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT is JANUARY 12th. 

Grant amount is minimum $1000 – maximum $3000.

To apply, complete and submit an application in Nova.

 

Your application will include:

  • Basic information about the project
  • Your answers to application questions
  • Name of recommender you are applying to
  • Artistic examples as required by the recommender theatre company
  • Support documents
