The Young Company has a legacy of training and building the next generation of great theatre artists in our community.

This is an audition only program that gives participants an incredible experience diving into the world of professional theatre. Youth Artists will work with core YES Theatre company members to mount a full scale production that culminates in performances for schools and the public.  They will learn the key skills and tools to become professionals in all areas of the craft including on and off stage positions.

For Students Age 11 And Older

The Young Company engages students in the process of creating a major theatrical production, culminating in a series of performances for parents and the community.

This program encourages participants to develop their performance abilities in acting, voice, and movement, and contribute to the creation of props, sets, and costumes. Recent productions include One Small Step, The Magic Pebble, Mining Rocks!, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan.

SCHEDULE

Rehearsals will be held on Sundays (4-8pm) and Mondays (5-8pm) – 2025-26 dates to be determined.

AUDITIONS

Entrance into this program is by audition. Auditions will be held at the Sudbury Theatre Centre in the fall of 2025 – audition dates and sign-up information will be posted soon.

FEES

No fees are required to audition for this program. The participation fees for successful applicants will be posted soon.

JANIE PINARD | Director

Janie Pinard is a  local francophone artist whose previous work with YES Theatre includes the choreography of 16 musicals and the co-direction of Jersey Boys and Peter Pan. Her comedy duo Les Bunheads has performed in six countries with performances at Montreal’s Just For Laughs and the NY Clown Theatre Festival. Studies include L’École de Clown et Comédie Francine Côté in Montreal and the Advanced Ensemble Program at Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre in California. Recently, she choreographed a new Canadian Francophone Musical entitled Vaches, The Musical with Créations in Vivo in Ottawa and Waitress at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre.
